You can reach the FRS Syltfähre comfortably by camper on the Island Römö. The approach via Denmark and the toll-free car causeway leads through a beautiful landscape and is extremely relaxing. At the pier in Havneby, you can drive directly onto the ferry with your caravan or motor home. Or you can stop off in the charming town with its restaurants and stores.
The FRS Syltferries "RömöExpress" and "SyltExpress" travel between Havneby on Römö and List on Sylt up to 32 times a day. Early birds take the first ferry at 5:15 am. In summer, the last ferry leaves for Römö at 9 pm.

What do I have to consider when traveling to Sylt with a caravan or motorhome?
The most convenient way to buy a ticket is online. But you can also buy your ticket directly on site at the ticket office. With a reservation, you can travel directly on board. Our staff will assign you a parking space. Parking is simple and straightforward. Pull the handbrake and put the car in gear. During the crossing you must leave your camping vehicle. For safety reasons it is not allowed to stay in the vehicle during the crossing. The hygiene concept on board ensures a safe crossing. An announcement will tell you when you are allowed to re-enter the car decks. Leaving the car ferry is as easy as driving on board. You don't have to maneuver, just drive forward onto the island.

On board FRS Syltfähre there are no size limits for your camping vehicle.
How many campsites are there on Sylt?
Sylt has a very good infrastructure for campers. Seven campsites are spread across the North Sea island. Almost all campsites on Sylt are located near the beach and surrounded by idyllic dunes. There are campsites in: - Rantum - Westerland - Wenningstedt - Tinnum - Kampen - Morsum - Hörnum
When are the campsites on Sylt open?
Most sites are open from Easter until the end of October. The campsite in Hörnum is even open during the winter season.
Can I stay in the car during the crossing to Sylt?
Nature conservation is taken very seriously on Sylt. Wild camping is strictly prohibited. But with seven campsites, there is a good offer for motorhome and caravan vacationers.

Plan to arrive at the pier 20-40 minutes before departure. After showing your ticket, you will board directly.
What happens if I am too early/too late?
The FRS Syltfähre has never "left anyone standing". If there is space on the ship you can also board with your camping vehicle earlier or later than planned.
