11th FRS Sylt Ferry Music Night with Madsen

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the “SyltExpress” will once again become a floating concert venue: At the 11th FRS Syltfähre Music Night, the German indie rock band Madsen will perform live on the North Sea.

Between List on Sylt and Havneby on Rømø, you can look forward to a concert evening with a view of the water, North Sea air, and a front-row seat to the band. No traditional concert hall, no standard stage. Instead, a live experience right in the middle of the sea.

On board: Madsen as the headliner and SCHLUMA as the opening act.

Tickets will be available starting May 15, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Concert at Sea

When Madsen meets the North Sea, the result is an evening filled with a special energy. For one night, the “SyltExpress” becomes a stage, the sea a backdrop, and the crossing a concert experience.

The FRS Sylt Ferry Music Night brings live music to a place where you don’t get to experience it every day: right on the route between Sylt and Rømø. Close to the audience, out on the water, and with an atmosphere that can only be found on board.

About Madsen

Since their debut album in 2005, Madsen have been synonymous with German-language indie rock that’s full of attitude, energy, and a powerful live presence. With songs like “Lass die Musik an,” “Du schreibst Geschichte,” and “Macht euch laut,” the band has built up a large fan base.

Their album “Hollywood” was released in 2023 on their own label and reached number one on the German album charts. On June 5, 2026, the band’s tenth studio album, “Smile,” will be released. At the FRS Sylt Ferry Music Night, Madsen will bring new music and many familiar songs to the floating stage.

SCHLUMA will kick off the evening. The Hamburg-based band is known for minimalist lo-fi indie rock with influences from the 90s, noise elements, and relatable lyrics laced with subtle humor.


A sound that fits perfectly with an evening that is deliberately different from a traditional concert on land.

 

A concert series with a rich history

The FRS Sylt Ferry Music Night has established itself over many years as a unique event on the water. Artists such as Clueso, Vanessa Mai, Thees Uhlmann, Beatrice Egli, Heino, Wolfgang Niedecken, and Kettcar have already performed on this extraordinary stage.
 

With Madsen, the series will enter its 11th edition in 2026.
