Do I need to register my dog in advance, or do I need to buy a ticket for my dog?
Generally, dogs do not need to be registered in advance.
Dogs travel for free if they are transported in a car. You can find the price list for dogs that are not transported in a car here.
What are the maximum dimensions for a bus or lorry?
The maximum dimensions for a bus or lorry are 21.80m length, 3.95m width and 4.80m height, with a maximum weight of 60 tonnes.

Do bike racks cost extra?
You can bring your bike rack with you for free on the back of your car, as long as the overall length is under 6.00 m, or on top of your car, as long as the overall height is under 4.80 m.
What happens if I have lost my ticket?
The shipping company does not take responsiblity for your lost ticket as the ticket can be used by any other person. However, if you find it after the departure, the ticket can be returned up to eight weeks after departure at the following address:

Is the multi-card transferable?
No, the multi-card is limited to one car, the registration of which is noted on the card.
Is there a student discount?
No, there is no reduced rate for students.
Is there a discount for seniors?
There is no discount for seniors travelling in a car.
There are, however, reduced tickets for seniors travelling on foot. The relevant information can be found in our price list.
Is there a discount for disabled passengers? Does the accompanying person need to pay?
Passengers with limited mobility who travel by car don't receive a discount.
Nevertheless, there's a discount for disabled passengers who don't travel by car. For further information please check our price list.
If there's a remark on your disabled ID card indicating that you need an accompanying person, the accompanying person travels for free.
Is there a special price for people living on Sylt or Rømø?

Where is Havneby?
Havneby lies at the southern tip of the Danish island of Rømø. The island is about an hour‘s drive by car from the German-Danish border, and is connected to the mainland by a causeway that is free of charge. Find more information about Havneby and your journey here.
How long is the journey from Flensburg to Rømø?
The journey lasts approximately one hour. Please pay attention to the speed limits of 130 kmph on motorways and 80 kmph on ordinary roads when driving through Denmark. The use of the causeway on to Rømø is free of charge. You can find detailed directions to the port in Havneby here.
Whats happens if I'm too late / early?
You're allowed to take any ferry on the same day, as long as there's enough capacity.
If you already know that you're going to be late, we appreciate being informed in advance. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I stay in my car during the journey?
For security reasons this is not possible. We recommend that you enjoy the fresh sea breeze on one of our open decks. Or, discover our restaurant and on-board shop inside the ship.
Can I bring my pets along with me?
Yes, as long as they have vaccination certificates. Please note our special indications for dogs.
What can I eat on board of the FRS Syltferries?
You can find snacks, ice cream and a range of Danish and international dishes in our on-board restaurant. Our chef will treat you to special seasonal dishes that change every month - also from GOSCH Sylt. Find more information about our on-board restaurant here.
Are there any limitations for wheelchair users?
There are no limitations for wheelchair users on board of the SyltExpress. There is a lift so that everyone can reach our restaurant, where naturally you will find moveable seats. Our passageways, wide enough for wheelchairs, and accessible toilets (also in the port) ensure a fully accessible trip on our FRS Syltferry.
Am I allowed to smoke on bord?
Please not, that you're only allowed to smoke on the open deck of both our ferries.
How long is my ticket valid?
The ticket is vaild for 12 months from the date of issue. Promotion tickets may have a shorter validity.
Can I make the crossing in a hire car?
Yes, but in this case we also need the exact length of the vehicle.
Do I need my passport?
Yes, as we will cross the border (Germany/Denmark). Please make sure to have your passport with you when entering a foreign country.
Are there charging stations for electric cars on board?
Currently, we do not offer charging stations for electric cars on our ferries. You can find an overview of the e-charging stations near the pier here.
Are there any bus/train connections from Rømø to Billund/Legoland?
There are bus/train connections from Rømø to Billund. The journey takes about two to three hours, including the transfer from bus to train in Skærbæk.
The journey takes about 1.5 hours by car.
